How to Use BreakPoint

🪨 Rock Details

Enter the rock's scan properties — results update instantly as you type:

  • Resistance % — How hard the rock is to fracture
  • Instability % — Rock's charge window volatility
  • Rock Mass — Total mass in kilograms

💡 No button needed — all panels update in real-time as you change values!

 Fleet Config

Build your mining fleet:

  • Crew Present — Number of players available to man laser heads
  • Deploy Vessel — Select ship type and add to fleet; each ship shows its turret heads
  • Rename Ships — Click the pencil icon next to any ship name
  • Laser Head — Choose the laser head model for each turret
  • Modules — Equip up to 3 modules per head (slots depend on the laser chosen)
  • Active Toggle — The on/off switch enables or disables each head's contribution
  • Module Toggles — Individually enable active modules to test their effect on the fracture

💡 Every fleet change instantly recalculates results and updates all panels!

🔧 Gadget Selection

Mining gadgets modify rock properties during fracture:

  • Check "Owned" for gadgets you have — that's all you need to configure
  • • The tool automatically selects the best owned gadget for each break method
  • • Gadgets can reduce resistance, stabilise instability, or widen the charge window
  • • The active gadget for each method is shown on its combination card

📊 Results Panel

Live readout of your fleet's fracture capability:

  • FRACTURE SUCCESSFUL — Combined power meets or exceeds the requirement
  • CREW SHORT — Power is sufficient but you need more crew for all active heads
  • FRACTURE FAILED — Insufficient combined laser power
  • Final Resistance / Modified Instability — Values after all laser and module effects are applied
  • Laser Power Analysis — Combined MW, Required MW, and Utilization %
  • Power vs Margin — Chart comparing your team's output to the fracture threshold
  • Power Distribution — Shows each head's load % for the currently selected break method

✨ Possible Break Methods

All viable head combinations, ranked by efficiency:

  • • Lists every possible laser head combination within your crew limit
  • ★ Optimal — Recommended configuration: fewest heads, best power margin
  • • Each card shows total power, resistance/instability modifiers, and the best gadget for that combo
  • ⚠️ MARGINAL — Succeeds with ≤5% margin — risky in high-instability rocks
  • Click any card to load it into Chosen Loadout and update the Power Distribution chart

🎯 Chosen Loadout

Detailed breakdown of your selected break method:

  • • Shows which ships and laser heads to use, with their equipped modules
  • • Displays the recommended gadget for this specific configuration
  • • Power margin shows how much buffer you have above the fracture requirement
  • • Active module badges highlight which modules to trigger during the charge window

⚙️ Sandbox Mode

Test any configuration without ownership restrictions:

  • • Toggle Sandbox to unlock all modules and gadgets for hypothetical testing
  • • Useful for planning future equipment purchases or exploring best-case scenarios
  • • Sandbox state is shown in the Rock Details panel
